Ashley McGlothren – President / Founder
Ashley McGlothren received her B.A. in theatre from The University of West Florida in 2010. A theatre lover to the core, Ashley has been on or behind the stage since the age of 13. Her favorite roles include Blanche Dubois in A Streetcar Named Desire, Germaine in Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Hero in Much Ado About Nothing, and Margery Pinchwife in The Country Wife.
Ashley also has been credited as a Director in shows such as A Night of Samuel Beckett at Gulf Coast State College, Sam Shepard’s Buried Child, and most recently a show that she wrote herself for Pensacola FemFest called The Will of Women.
Ashley is the founder and current President of Arrant Knavery. She created Arrant Knavery because of a desire to put on classical and modern theatrical performances in a creative, unique way that is both educational and well-produced. The lifeblood and birth of Arrant Knavery came from a deep desire to see more opportunities for local actors to try their hand at classical works such as Shakespeare and Moliere. However, she is also very excited to explore newer works with the company.
Madeline Smith – Vice President / Secretary / Founder
Madeline Smith was born and raised in Pace, FL. She earned her B.S.B.A. in Human Resources Management from the University of West Florida in 2019. Though she was new to theatre with the advent of Arrant Knavery, Madeline has since been credited as an Assistant Director for both The Will of Women and Picasso at the Lapin Agile. Her special talents include falling asleep to Bob Ross’s voice and quoting Futurama. She loves dogs, 70’s soft rock, sushi, and the New Orleans Saints.
Madeline co-founded Arrant Knavery, Inc. with President and Founder Ashley McGlothren in 2017. She currently serves as the Vice President and Secretary of Arrant Knavery. She was also a FemFest 2018 organizer. Madeline is passionate about local theatre and enjoys performing the behind-the-scenes work that it takes to run a nonprofit!
